Student Who Lives in ‘Tagpi-Tagpi’ House, Proudly Posts Tarpaulin as New Engineer

They might live in a ‘tagpi-tagpi’ house (patched up, dilapidated house) but when Crystalle Mae Manalo passed the engineering board exams, she proudly posted her tarpaulin outside their home despite her grandma worrying about their home’s appearance.

In a heartwarming post on Facebook, Crystalle wrote about how her grandmother, Gloria Mamaradlo Manalo, worried about what people might say about their tagpi-tagpi house once she posts photos of her tarpaulin. But Crystalle is not ashamed of their house, even if it is dilapidated.

Crystalle posted on Facebook:

Her story would go viral on Facebook, with many netizens expressing praise over her wonderful outlook in life.

Nanay Gloria is really so proud of Crystalle. On her Facebook account, she also posted a congratulatory message for the new engineer.

Crystalle graduated from BS Mechanical Engineering from Colegio de San Juan de Letran – Calamba as Academic Excellence Awardee!

But there’s more to Crystalle’s story than what she posted – and her proud uncle, Nowie Cruz Malonzo. shared it in a comment.

“Congratulations pamangkin.

At sana lalu ka pa i-Blessed ng PANGINOON upang matupad mo lahat pangarap mo., GODBLESS Crystalle Mae Manalo WE [ARE] PROUD OF YOU. WE LOVE YOU.”
