Helping The Community
Dear Fellow Mechanical Engineers,
Greetings!
Last December 2, 2019, Typhoon Tisoy, classified as a severe storm by the PAGASA, badly struck the Philippines, mostly parts of Visayas and Luzon regions, specifically the provinces of Sorsogon and Quezon, and the island of Samar, and as a result, more than thousands of families flee their homes for their safety. A significant number of our countrymen had lost their respective homes, sources of living, and, sadly for some, their loved ones. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Typhoon Tisoy has around 9 casualties and has severely damaged approximately
Php 811 Million worth of agricultural products. Further, power lines were cut and basic necessities are becoming scarce, inadequate to meet the needs of the typhoon hit regions.
As one beneficent organization, we take an active part in extending our hands to ameliorate the conditions of the members of our community especially those who are desperately in need of it. By reason of the aforementioned unfortunate event, we humbly reach out to the benignant hearts of our general membership in joining us with aiding our fellow Filipinos who are greatly affected by the said typhoon, either in cash or in kind, especially now that the holidays are fast approaching.
